Cancel Ghost Adventures and Remove All Zak Bagans Properties from Warner Bros Discovery.

The Issue

Zak Bagans is the host of the popular paranormal show Ghost Adventures and several other spinoff productions. He is also the owner of the Haunted Museum in Las Vegas. Bagans has been accused of racism and religious propaganda on several occasions.

In 2016, Bagans was accused of racism after he made a joke about black people on his show. He said that he was "afraid of black ghosts" because they were "more likely to be violent." Bagans later apologized for the joke, but many people were still offended.

In 2017, Bagans was accused of religious propaganda after he said that he was "on a mission from God" to investigate ghosts. He has also continuously promoted that he believed demons were real and that they were trying to possess humans. Bagans' comments were met with criticism from many people who believed Bagans was using his show to promote his own religious beliefs and that he was fearmongering. This behavior is harmful to our society in many ways, not the least of which is the devaluation of authenticated experiences of people all over the world by promoting these experiences as common. Promoting demonic possession as common or even possible also contributes to harmful ideologies such as those impacting our political climate, where religious zealots are emboldened to do actual bodily harm to innocent people. The irresponsible treatment of this topic also contributes to mental instability in vulnerable audiences.

Furthermore, to this day, he promotes the idea of a "Dybbuk Box," which is fictional and has been proven as fictional by the myth's creator, Kevin Mannis, who in 2021 told Input magazine that the Dybbuk Box story was entirely fictional. This story is antisemitic and harmful to the Jewish community. There is no such thing as a dybbuk box in Jewish culture, and a dybbuk is not a demon in Jewish culture. Therefore to promote these falsehoods is antisemitic and misrepresentation of Jewish culture and, therefore, harmful to the perceptions of the culture, which are already inflamed in the current antisemitic political climate.

I believe that Zak Bagans' racism and religious propaganda are extremely harmful to our communities. His comments about the Black and Jewish communities and demons are offensive, perpetuate stereotypes and other falsehoods, and are extremely harmful in numerous ways.

In addition to these claims, former business partner Nick Groff recently came out exposing Zak Bagans for numerous reasons, including abuse of power. And Keith Linder, whose home and family previously appeared on Ghost Adventures, recently spoke out about abuse.

I urge you to sign this petition to send a message to Warner Bros. Discovery to have Ghost Adventures and all Zak Bagans properties removed and that his contract not be renewed. We need to send a message to Zak Bagans that his racism and religious propaganda and fearmongering are not acceptable and have no place in a civilized society.

Thank you for your time.
