On March 28th 2023, Eyal Dror, a colonel from the Israeli Occupying forces will be invited on University of Manitoba Campus grounds. Many students are concerned with their safety and well-being as the University of Manitoba students' Union allows for this event to take place.  

Just this past January, the Israeli Occupying forces led a large-scale raid in the Jenin refugee camp that resulted in the deaths of 10 Palestinians, including the death of an elderly women. The University of Manitoba Students' Union has chosen to allow a colonel from that same occupying force to speak on a campus with many students who come from refugee backgrounds that escaped the asymmetric warfare that continues in that region.  
As students at large, we are asking the broader UM community in supporting us to protect racialized Palestinian voices in signing this petition.  

We must protect the voices of those that are marginalized by practicing a level of sensitivity towards displaced members of our community; whether it be Ukrainian or Palestinian, treating refugees from all ethnicities and beliefs with the same compassion and respect must be our goal as a University of Manitoba community.
