The last few weeks have been hectic for everyone but the people that are most affected by the tragic events hitherto are the Palestinians. Following the Israeli upheaval, millions of people are confronted to a genocide. This horrendous situation is unfettered to Palestine but to every person in the world that has humanity and some empathy in them. 

Albeit some might find it normal to show support to an oppressed group, the 21th century genocides appear to some as "complicated" to understand, hence the belated positioning of manifold public figures. Among these public figures, Eric Nam, a South-Korean artist surreptitously positionned himself as neutral and was subsumed automatically to the side of the Israeli oppressors. He later stated that the nefarious attack on the civilians in Gaza was legitimate. 

Furthermore, it has been found that DIVE studio has connections to Mr. Scooter Braun, a man openly supporting this apartheid regime and paving the way for israeli propaganda.  

Mr. Nam has a degree in international relations. Therefore he should be able to distinguish what's exactly happening in Palestine and understand that he can't allow himself to position himself in-between camps and be at odds with pro-Palestinians. Nevertheless, his rather unprofessional handling of the backlash he recieved in Malaysia shows us that he is not open to have a sincere discussion with his fans and learn that as a public figure he must use his platform to speak up about this genocide that is currently being silenced by the media. However, Mr. Nam took umbrage at the critics and decided to cancel his concert there. 

The singer Eric Nam has been announced for the Ancienne Belgique, on March 13th 2024. Nonetheless, the venue has made their support towards Palestine public on instagram on October 27th 2023. Hence, this petition in hopes that his concert can be cancelled because his values do not represent the values of the AB, a place supporting freedom and human rights.

Brussels qualifies itself as one of the most diverse cities in the world and within this diverse population, 20% would consider themselves as Muslims. They represent around 500 000 persons, who have become the main targets of the uproar in islamophobic crimes as a direct corollary to the Palestinian genocide. The Muslim community is in complete distraught after Eric's stance on this humanitarian issue, not only does he cancel a date of his tour without giving proper explanations but Eric has made it clear that he disparages his fans by not taking the time to formulate proper statements nor to apologize in a proper way. 

This is why we would hope wit the ambit of this petition to make it aware to Eric that he is not welcome in Brussels, many fans regret buying their ticket following his flatly unacceptable statements.
