In the RG KAR Medical Collge, a Government run institution in Kolkata, a young lady doctor was brutally raped and murdered while on duty in her own hospital premises, an incident unthinkable, and unheard of in the civilized world.
Bengalis in North America have protested vigorously against this heinous pre-planned crime and the attempted coverup by influencial people in the state administration and seeking justice for the victim and her family. However, many celebrities associated with the administration that corrupted the investigation process are trying to make money in North America with lucrative contracts as guest artists from Kolkata. . Mr Babul Spriyo, a minister of WB government, is one of them that has received invitation and booked in entertainment programs with the Durga Puja committees of Kallol, NJ; Philadelphia, PA, Meryland and others. Mr. Supriyo has not protested this gruesome atrocity let alone participate in protests. In this situation, silence is equivalent to support for the criminals and their enablers. We request and demand that these organizations cancel Mr. Babul Supriyo's program immediately. If they don't, we urge members and patrons of these clubs to resoundingly boycott these entertainment programs and stand in solidarity with the victim Tilottama and the protesting public worldwide. We want to send a message that sympathizers for rapists and murderers will not be welcomed or tolerated in the US and Canada our adopted home lands.
The puja committee of Austin, TX has already canceled the Babul Supriya concert from their puja program and we fervently hope others
