For my Global Issues class in Grade Twelve, I'm creating a Take Action Project to inform people about the issues facing Transgender and Transexual people regarding Bathroom and Prison rights. There's not a lot that I can do personally other than inform, so I've decided to start a petition to gain some attention from the government to see that unisex washrooms and prisons (since they don't seem to want to let them into the washroom or prison of their preferred gender) are needed for people who no longer identify as the gender on their birth certificate. A lot of people plan their days around whether or not there will be a washroom they can use, and that needs to stop. Either allow people into their bathroom of choice, or use your funds to accommodate them.
