These are trying times for Canadians. With the cost of Living at an alltime high, with a housing crisis, interest rates up, and the ongoing Covid Pandemic, Canadians find ourselves struggling to survive. Corporate greed fuels alot of these problems, but as it pertains to the housing crisis, provinces are doing nothing legislatively to prevent landlords from raising rents and forcing tenants out. Many of us are living paycheck to paycheck, and monthly benefits those of us who are unable to work, retired, or live with physical and mental disabilities are finding it even harder. 

It is time the Federal government step in and help, in a way that they have never done. It is time That Universal Basic Income be implemented for all Canadians and Families. As well, Retirees, Disabled and Canadians with mental illnesses be provided Guaranteed Livable Basic income. 

Globally, studies have shown that when government provides no strings attached Guaranteed Basic income, recipients are able to meet their Basic needs without being forced to sacrifice housing, food, and necessary comforts to living, while instead devoting time to desired employment, schooling, and Basic recreation without enduring anxiety and health problems caused by stress and fear. The fear that Basic income will lead recipients to becoming lazy is unfounded and has been repeatedly debunked . In order to fund Basic Income, all that's needed is to increase taxes on the wealthiest Canadians, Billionnaires, and Corporate CEOs who have been increasing profits at the expense of the least well off among us . Higher taxes on the Excessively wealthy will increase the quality of life for all Canadians, UNIVERSALLY. 

Recently,  Canada has begun to increase access too qualifying for MAID ( Medical assistance in dying). We are seeing more people accessing this option because the cost of surviving has become insurmountable. 

During the 2021 Federal Election campaign, I asked my Elected Liberal Member of Parliament, Brenda Shanahan, if Prime Minister Justin Trudeau would finally listen to us, and implement UBI and GLBI. Her response proved that not only do Liberals ( And NDP) MPs not know what UBI and GLBI are, they are unwilling to think of those below The Middle Class . She told me "Canada Child Tax Benefit is UBI" , AND made no mention of Single Canadians without children who don't exist in the Middle Class . It is time we raise our voices and explain loudly What UBI and GLBI are, and don't let up until they understand what it is and why it is needed.
