The Issue

This petition was created in an attempt to bring awareness to, and prevent, the potential deportation of Jaskirat Sidhu. Mr. Sidhu was the driver of the truck that killed and injured members of the Humboldt Broncos.

There is no doubt that Mr. Sidhu made a terrible mistake and he has been the first to say it.  He has done everything possible to accept all the responsibility for his actions even though he was far from the only one responsible. Mr. Sidhu did his best to protect the families of those killed or injured from any unnecessary hurt at his expense by pleading guilty and waiving a trial. When the trial judge delivered a sentence far exceeding what anybody thought was fair, he refused to appeal because he wanted to spare the families. The article by Parker Donham (link below) that was in the National Post does a very good job of discussing this case and the merits of why Mr. Sidhu should not be deported. Please support Mr. Sidhu and keep him in Canada.
