As students of Campbell County High School, we believe it is our right to take a stand to something we feel is unnecessary (Google Meets on Wednesday). Students have been found to be more productive on Wednesdays where they can work on their own schedule. It allows students to reset and possibly catch up on missing sleep or work.

While this may seem immensely fertile, after talking with several students, together we believe this is the best option for everyone. Class hours are already prolonged enough; 90 minutes a day. Since we are not losing any class hours, and we are going through a rough time, we believe this is the best route to take. Not only is this beneficial to the students, but always provides planning for the instructors. 

As you may know, teenagers struggle with mental health issues enough as it is. Adding a pandemic and scattered, irregular school schedules make it all the worse. Students need time to catch up and feel at ease with situations going around them every once in a while. 

After reading this petition, we hope you will take this into consideration and remove the mandatory Google Meet on Wednesday's. (At least until we are hybrid again.)
