Petition the NC Board of Education to Remove Cynthia Ramsey from the Classroom
The Issue
Camden County North Carolina math teacher Cynthia Ramsey has been allowed to return to the classroom after stating openly that if she had ten days to live, she would kill all black people. Her remarks were confirmed by students in the class during the investigation led by the Camden County Sheriffs department. County Sheriff Tony Perry turned the evidence over to the district attorney to decide if they will prosecute. If he did not feel that there was sufficent evidence to do so he would not have turned the evidence over. With the district attorneys office involved, now students have changed their stories in an effort to protect the teachers job. It is no secret to the community that Ms. Ramsey may have ill feelings toward African Americans. Her daughter was shot and paralyzed by a black male a year or two ago which may be one catalyst for such remarks. Former students have also come forward to share inappropriate remarks that Ms. Ramsey has made in her classroom, such as trying to run her husband over with a car after his infidelity resulting in jail time. If a student had made these remarks to a teacher he/she would have been expelled. Would you want her in the same classroom as your child knowing that this occured? The safety of students and staff are at hand. Who is to know when her last ten days are here? She is emotionally unstable . With all of the school violence that has occured across America this is not something that should be taken lightly! Wouldn't you be concerned if your child or family member where sitting in her class? Please sign this petition to the North Carolina Department of Education to have her removed from the classroom.
