Calling on Florida to Charge Jennifer Soto

The Issue

As a parent and as an attorney I believe there is already enough evidence to charge Jennifer Soto with several charges. I wrote the following letter to present to the prosecutor in Florida. Please sign this petition in support of this movement and I will present the letter along with the petition.

From the evidence accessible to us online, it is apparent that the aforementioned person, Jennifer Soto, has committed severe offenses which have resulted in the death and abuse of Madeline Soto. Following a thorough review of the public information available, I write to formally request your esteemed office to pursue the following charges against Jennifer Soto:

1. Aggravated Child Abuse: Pursuant to Florida Statutes Section 827.03(2)(a), Jennifer Soto's actions align with the severe criteria set for this first-degree felony. The intentional, severe harm Jennifer Soto has caused aligns with the charges, which could carry penalties of up to 30 years of imprisonment.

2. Lewd or Lascivious Molestation: Jennifer Soto’s actions are considered to be in violation of Florida Statutes Sections 800.04, as she actively participated in and facilitated the sexual abuse. Such an offense could lead to a lifetime registration as a sex offender and a second-degree felony charge with up to 15 years of imprisonment, and no eligibility for sentence reduction for good behavior.

3. Accessory After the Fact: The evidence indicates that Jennifer Soto has likely served as an accessory after the fact, potentially assisting the offender post-crime, in line with Florida Statutes Section 777.03. This could point to a first-degree felony with potential sentencing of up to 30 years imprisonment.

We assess that it is clear from the public evidence that Jennifer Soto has met the elements for the aforementioned charges, hence our request for her indictment. We hope that your office will act promptly in this matter to serve justice to the victim and deliver closure to those affected.
