Richard Guilliatt, journalist for over thirty years created and oversaw the podcast Shadow of A Doubt where he interviewed now convicted pedophile Rob Gilfillan. Rob Gilfillian is one of the most prolific and sadistic pedophiles in Australian history, perpetuated against vast numbers of underage victims across decades. Richard Guilliatt gave platform to Rob via the podcast Shadow of Doubt, who then called his victims liars, directly speaking of his own daughter, used case notes which led to the public identification of his daughter who had chosen to remain anonymous and directly led to acute traumatic health events for the victim including a suicide attempt that left her with over 600 stitches and an induced neurological event resembling a stroke. There is a difference between journalism and leveraging perverse, abhorrent actions to generate publicity at the detriment of real life victims whose lives are irreparably damaged. This petition calls for The Australian, and all other media organizations currently utilizing Richard Guilliatt to cease working with this opportunistic vulture. Giving platform to Rob Gilfillan and using the name Shadow of Doubt directly implied that his victims were not telling the truth, now known to be a ridiculous assertion given that he was convicted of dozens of counts of rape, and sexual abuse. Rob Gilfillan is a monster, and Richard Guilliatt s credibility as a journalist is forever tarnished. If news sites and media companies care about victims and bringing justice, they should cease all ties with Richard Guilliatt immediately, the man has taken no responsibility for his role of a victims identification and his unethical decision to create this podcast.
