Calling for a Ministry investigation & oversight on St Anthony’s administrators
The Issue
We, the parents and concerned members of the St. Anthony’s community, are calling for the immediate removal of current administrative leadership at St. Anthony’s Catholic School.
Over time, families have reported a consistent pattern of negligence, unprofessionalism, and emotional harm toward students — particularly those who are neurodivergent or medically vulnerable. Children have been isolated, unsupported, and, in many cases, disciplined or excluded as a direct result of their diagnoses. Parents have reported being stonewalled, dismissed, and excluded from critical educational decisions concerning their children.
This is not an isolated complaint — it reflects repeated concerns shared by multiple families within our school community.
We are demanding:
✅ An independent investigation into misconduct allegations
✅ Immediate administrative leave for current leadership
✅ Restorative support for affected families and students
✅ Accountability from the school board for its failure to protect students, misuse of policy, and lack of oversight
For too long, parents have watched their children return home emotionally drained, unsupported, and unheard. Many of us have spoken up, only to be dismissed or redirected to policies and procedures that have failed to result in meaningful change.
At the center of these concerns is the ongoing failure of school leadership. Based on reports from numerous families, administrative conduct has directly contributed to the serious and repeated issues within the school. While some families have previously attempted to voice these concerns, most have faced dismissal or intimidation when doing so.
We have documented:
• Families excluded from educational and behavioral planning processes
• Neurodivergent and medically vulnerable students disciplined instead of accommodated
• Reports of children left unsupervised or unaccounted for without appropriate protocols in place
• Bullying incidents left unaddressed, escalating harm and emotional trauma
• Medical concerns (including diabetes, ADHD, and other regulated conditions) reportedly ignored, delayed, or mishandled despite legal obligations
• Incidents of student restraint or isolation where parents were not properly notified, in violation of standard protocols
• Parents dismissed or intimidated through selective enforcement of policy instead of being treated as equal partners in education
Additionally, multiple witnesses have reported that, during a well-known event— commonly referred to as the “Yuk Yuk Incident” — a senior administrator appeared visibly impaired, used inappropriate language, disrupted the event, and was ultimately escorted from the venue. Witnesses report the individual displayed inappropriate behavior inconsistent with the standards expected of a Catholic school leader, and was subsequently placed on leave. Parents were later encouraged to offer forgiveness, despite the administration not extending the same compassion toward vulnerable students under her care.
Parents are not obstacles. Children are not problems. And school leadership should not harm or exclude the very families they are entrusted to serve.
We are formally requesting that the Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board and the Ontario Ministry of Education intervene, remove current administrative leadership from St. Anthony’s Catholic School, and initiate an independent review of administrative conduct.
Our children deserve emotionally safe, inclusive classrooms. We will continue advocating until that is guaranteed.
These are not minor concerns. They reflect serious breaches of trust, failure to follow policy, and, in some cases, potential legal violations.
We are no longer asking quietly — we are demanding publicly:
✅ Immediate removal of current administrative leadership pending formal investigation
✅ Full independent review of leadership practices at St. Anthony’s (and across the Board where applicable)
✅ Transparent updates to all affected families
✅ Appropriate support and restitution for families impacted by administrative failures
Our voices deserve to be heard — not silenced.
And school leadership should be accountable to the families they serve — not protected from them.
📰 This is not an isolated issue.
In nearby communities, including Chatsworth, families have initiated similar petitions regarding leadership misconduct, exclusion, and lack of accountability. The fact that multiple school communities across the region are voicing these concerns highlights a broader systemic issue requiring province-wide attention. Across boards, families report being stonewalled, gaslit, and silenced through excessive use of policies intended to discourage advocacy.
⚖️ Legal Foundations:
Ontario Regulation 181/98 guarantees parental involvement in all special education decisions. No school has authority to override this without written parental consent.
The Ontario Human Rights Code mandates equal treatment and accommodation for students with disabilities, to the point of undue hardship.
Standards of Practice for the Teaching Profession require care, trust, respect, and integrity.
PPM 145 (Progressive Discipline) was created to build safe, inclusive learning environments — not to isolate or exclude vulnerable students.
This petition is about protection — not revenge.
It is about justice — not disruption.
And it is long overdue.
