Call To Action: Costumes of Satoro Gojo for Albino Community on Halloween 2025

The Issue

Halloween 2024 left me with a memory that still haunts me—a night when albino pets and people alike passed up the chance to dress as Satoru Gojo. For myself and others, this was a clear, missed opportunity. The shared disappointment was tangible, palpable even, and the experience resonated with me on a personal level. As a member of an ethnic minority and someone living with a rare genetic disorder that impacts my health, I can no longer stay silent while this opportunity slips by, year after year.

Satoro Gojo, the charismatic character from Jujutsu Kaisen, has become a symbolic figure that resonates with many because of his powerful representation of strength and uniqueness, something that mirrors the experience of the albino community. The gravity of this missed opportunity to connect our unique identity with a powerful symbol led to a collective sense of loss and a missed opportunity for common representation.

In the United States alone, albinism is estimated to affect 1 in every 18,000 to 20,000 people, based on data from the National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation (NOAH). To bring joy and a sense of common identity for this significant cohort, it is paramount that we act.

Thereby, we fervently advocate a call to action that in Halloween 2025, all albinos - humans and pets alike - dress as Satoro Gojo. This act aims to transform our community into one filled with jubilation, inclusivity, and individuality into common representation even if for just one wonderful night.

Let’s make Halloween 2025 memorable for our community. Your signatures are the first step towards making this change a reality. Sign this petition now.
