President Trump is calling on NATO allies and other nations to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz after Iran effectively shut down the critical shipping route.

He has warned that countries benefiting from the waterway — including major oil importers — must step up to protect it.

The Strait of Hormuz carries roughly one-fifth of the world’s oil supply. With the route disrupted, oil prices have surged above $100 per barrel. Markets are unstable. Families worldwide are bracing for higher fuel and food costs.

This cannot be left to one nation alone.

We call on NATO members, the European Union, China, India, and Gulf nations to answer the call and coordinate a multinational effort to:

Secure commercial shipping lanes
Deter further attacks on energy infrastructure
Prevent global economic fallout
If the world depends on Hormuz, the world must help protect it.

Stand with efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
Support a coordinated international response.
