Call on the government of Canada to investigate the major grocery chains for price fixing

The Issue

My grocery bills have skyrocketed. Last month I noticed that I was spending about 20 to 25 per cent more on food than I used to, without having changed my buying habits since last year or indulging in anything extravagant. In fact, I have stopped or cut down on buying many things I used to because of the increase in cost. For example, a box of frozen haddock that used to be $12.99 is now $17.99. Gourmet frozen pizza went from $10 to $13.99. Cheese has gone up by about 30%; meat has skyrocketed. And it's all across the board: all the major supermarkets seem to have raised their prices at about the same rate. I have to ask myself whether there was a collective decision on their part to do so.

Please sign this petition if you think there should be a government investigation into whether there was such collusion on their part, which could constitute price fixing.
