卑诗省保守党党领冯杰妮（Kerry-Lynne Findlay）曾于今年5月份的党魁竞选期间，在缺乏证据的情况下指称列治文桥港选区（Bridgeport)的四届省议员屈潔冰是“中共党员”，并声称她在当地华人群体中“出售党员资格”。该指责导致屈潔冰愤而退党。
迄今为止，冯杰妮仍然没有为自己无端指责屈潔冰省议员公开道歉，屈潔冰也频繁遭遇不明人士的电话（英语）辱骂。

我们认为，任何基于族裔身份、缺乏事实依据的怀疑或指控，都可能强化对少数族裔的不信任和偏见。针对屈洁冰的无依据指控，不仅伤害个人的声誉和公共服务，也让更多少数族裔感受到参与公共事务的压力与顾虑，这有悖于加拿大所倡导的平等、多元和包容原则。华裔及其他少数族裔同样有权平等参与加拿大的公共事务和政治生活。
我们发起联署要求：

1， 党领冯杰妮向屈洁冰公开道歉。

2， 向屈潔冰所属的华人社区公开道歉。

During this year's leadership race in May, BC Conservative Party leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay accused Teresa Wat, four-term MLA for Richmond-Bridgeport, of being a "CCP member" without evidence, and claimed that Wat was "selling party memberships" within the local Chinese community. This accusation led Wat to resign from the party in anger.

To date, Findlay has still not issued a public apology to MLA Wat for these baseless accusations, and Wat continues to face harassing phone calls (in English) from unidentified individuals. 

We believe that suspicion or accusations based on ethnicity and lacking a factual basis can reinforce distrust and prejudice toward minority communities. The unsubstantiated allegations against Teresa Wat not only harm her personal reputation and public service, but may also make members of minority communities feel greater pressure and hesitation about participating in public affairs. This runs counter to Canada’s principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion. Chinese Canadians and other ethnic minorities have the same right to participate fully and equally in Canada’s public and political life.

We are launching this petition to demand that Findlay:

1,  Publicly apologize to Teresa Wat for the serious allegations made against her.

2,  Publicly  apologize for the harm these remarks have caused to the Chinese Canadian community.
