As a longtime resident of Fairfield, my concern is for the town that I call home. Each year, the tax burden upon us continues to grow heavier, with no apparent benefit. Michelle Flewelling and her supporting committee are consistently behind these changes. Their most recent proposals for additional funding seem to be for unneccessary projects, such as new buildings that duplicate existing facilities, and which do nothing to benefit the everyday citizens.

These existing facilities we already have are not in dire need of replacement, but rather simple updates. However, funds that could be used for these improvements are being funneled into extravagant and needless new developments. This not only exacerbates our tax situation, but also shows a lack of respect for our hard-earned money and the community’s needs.

By their actions, Michelle Flewelling and her co-committee members have shown an apparent lack of understanding for the needs of our residents and the financial constraints we face.

In the interest of safeguarding our town and our resources, the time has come for us to request the removal of Michelle Flewelling and her supportive committee members. The leadership of Fairfield should prioritize the real needs of its citizens, and fiscally responsible solutions should be considered over unnecessary excesses.
