Representative Dave Foggin, a teacher at a Parkersburg High School, is calling for reintroducing corporal punishment to WV public school children.
MOSTLY, this would be aimed at elementary school children. 

Not only is this vile, barbaric, and inconceivable in the year 2025, but Dave Foggin has doubled down on his approach, and believes that WV parents are not disciplining their children. 

I emailed Foggin twice, called his WV Capital office and left voice mails. When Foggin did reach back out to me, he expressed and this is a full quote: 

“I appreciate your participation in the legislative process....it will NOT go away.  Teachers are being abused by out of control children...mostly in the elementary schools.  They need the discipline they aren't getting at home.” 

I responded to Foggin at length, calling for him to resign from education if he feels the need to put his hands on children, his response was- again direct quote from his email: 

“Thank you kia … perhaps you should spew your garbage to your representatives.”

This behavior from someone within the House of Representatives, is unacceptable. Raising questions is allowed. Asking for clarification is allowed. Making sure your voice is heard, is allowed. 

Foggin is going to open himself up to lawsuits, should this bill move forward. Parents around the state are not going to take kindly to someone putting their hands on their children. 

Dave Foggin NEEDS to be removed from any and all positions of power.
