CALL FOR STUDENT-CENTERED GRADUATION RITES, NOW!

We, the students of Bulacan State University, have identified areas for improvement in our graduation ceremony. We believe that these changes will make the event more inclusive, meaningful, and memorable for everyone involved. We kindly request the administration to address the following demands:

  1. Student Input and Engagement: We urge the administration to actively listen to our suggestions and ideas regarding the graduation ceremony. By involving student representatives and the Student Council, we can ensure that our voices are considered in decision-making. Our perspectives matter, and we want to contribute to creating a ceremony that reflects our values and desires.
  2. Restore the Graduation March and Recognition: We ask for the reinstatement of the traditional graduation march. This symbolic act holds deep significance for us and our families. Additionally, we request that the awards, medals, and certificates be displayed on screens as we walk across the stage. This way, our achievements can be visibly acknowledged and celebrated by all.
  3. Increased Parental Involvement: We emphasize the importance of involving parents in the graduation ceremony. They have been our pillars of support throughout our educational journey. We urge the administration to provide appropriate seating and viewing arrangements for parents, ensuring they can witness this momentous occasion and share in our joy.
  4. Improved Venue Capacity and Accessibility: To accommodate the growing number of graduates and their guests, we suggest exploring alternative venues or organizing multiple sessions for the graduation ceremony. This will ensure that everyone can comfortably attend and participate. We want to create an environment that fosters a sense of pride and accomplishment.
  5. Thoughtful Selection of Speakers: We request that the administration carefully selects speakers who align with the principles and values of our university and have made significant contributions to their respective fields. The invited speakers should be individuals who can inspire and motivate us as we embark on our next chapter. Their words and experiences should resonate with the spirit of academic excellence, personal growth, and societal impact that we strive for at Bulacan State University.

By addressing these demands, the administration can enhance the graduation experience for all students, their families, and the university community. Let us work together to create a memorable and inclusive ceremony that truly reflects the achievements and values of Bulacan State University.

Join us in advocating for these changes and let our voices be heard.
