The Issue

Background and Basis for Concern

Over the past several years, a growing number of concerns have been raised regarding Jeremiah Johnson and the leadership of The Altar Church (formerly called The Ark Fellowship). These concerns are not coming from a single source or isolated situation, but from multiple independent individuals across different roles—including former leaders, staff members, elders, ministry peers, and congregation members.

These concerns have been raised across multiple independent sources over time, including public statements, written articles, and firsthand testimonies, all of which corroborate similar patterns.

Many of these individuals did not speak publicly right away. Several have stated that they first attempted to address their concerns privately, over a period of years. However, as similar patterns continued to surface, some have since chosen to share their experiences publicly for the sake of clarity, accountability, and the protection of others.

What follows is a brief summary of the key concerns that are now in the public light and have been consistently reported.

Summary of Key Concerns

  • Plagiarism and integrity of teaching — repeated allegations that Jeremiah Johnson has taken specific teachings, prophetic words, or personal experiences from others and presented them as his own, at times describing them as original revelation, raising serious concerns about honesty and credibility in his ministry.
  • False prophecy and lack of accountability — public prophetic statements that did not come to pass, followed by ongoing concerns that these were not meaningfully addressed, alongside reports from pastors and leaders raising concerns about deception and a lack of clear accountability.
  • Patterns in firsthand testimonies — multiple individuals describing repeated inconsistencies in statements, shifting explanations when questioned, and situations where concerns were brought privately over time but were not resolved.
  • Spiritual manipulation and control — firsthand accounts describing the use of spiritual authority and language to influence or override personal decisions, including individuals being told they were deceived, hearing from demons, or out of alignment with God when they questioned leadership or made independent choices.
  • Isolation and relational division — testimonies describing counsel or pressure that led individuals to distance themselves from family members or trusted outside relationships, resulting in increased dependence on internal leadership and loss of outside support.
  • Concerns about leadership accountability — ongoing questions about whether those in leadership are able to hold one another accountable, including potential conflicts of interest, lack of independent oversight, and whether previous concerns have been objectively investigated or addressed.

Why This Petition Is Calling for Stepping Down
The concerns outlined above span several years, many sources, and various but related allegations.

For many, this is no longer a situation that can be addressed through another temporary break or sabbatical. The patterns are no longer in question—the primary question is whether meaningful accountability has ever been established.

Because these concerns are repeated, serious, and unresolved, this petition is calling for decisive action:

  • Jeremiah Johnson to step down indefinitely from ministry and relinquish all positions of spiritual leadership.
  • The current elders of The Altar Church to step down indefinitely to allow for an impartial and independent review.
  • A third-party investigation that is not influenced or controlled by current leadership.
  • Full transparency with those affected by these situations.

Given the history of prior sabbaticals and counseling without meaningful resolution, another temporary pause is not sufficient.

The aim is not Jeremiah’s eventual reinstatement into ministry, but personal restoration to Jesus and his immediate family—away from platform and public influence, within a process that prioritizes truth, repentance, and accountability. He should not be trusted with any kind of church leadership. Restoration should be aimed solely at his own soul, his family, and general well-being. This should apply to the current, remaining leaders as well.

Closing
This is not a personal attack, but a call for accountability and the safety of innocent people.

Where there are repeated concerns, consistent testimonies, and unresolved questions, it is both wise and necessary to bring those issues into the light and pursue proper accountability.

The goal is not destruction, but truth, integrity, and protection for those who may be affected and the body of Christ at large.

“But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” - 1 John 1:7

“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.” - Ephesians 5:11

We are asking you to add your name to this petition—not out of outrage, but out of a commitment to truth, accountability, and the protection of people within the Church.

Silence enables patterns to continue, but accountability brings things into the light.

By signing, you are standing for integrity in leadership, for those who have been negatively impacted, for God’s children to be protected and for a standard of leadership that reflects the heart of Christ. We ask you to sign and share.
