Call for Immediate humanitarian ceasefire in IRAN

Call for Immediate humanitarian ceasefire in IRAN
The Issue
To: The United Nation Human Right Council
CC: UN Security Council, UNICEF, WHO, UNESCO
It has come to global attention that on Monday 09-March-2026 on X platform tweet, the President of the United States has issued a threat indicating an intention to target and destroy civilian infrastructure in Iran, including electricity systems, clean water resources, and energy facilities. Even prior to this threat, several civilian sites had already been damaged or destroyed during the conflict.
These incidents include the attack on a primary school in the city of Minab, which resulted in the deaths of 150 children and injured 100 others, strikes on multiple hospitals and damage to several UNESCO World Heritage sites and historic locations.
Additionally, the bombing of oil storage facilities in Tehran has caused severe air pollution and contaminated rainfall, raising concerns about long‑term health impacts on unarmed civilians.
The strike on the desalination plant on Qeshm Island has further intensified fears regarding access to safe drinking water.
The conflict has also resulted in immediate and widespread damage across the Middle East, targeting critical energy infrastructure, airports, and civilian areas in Persian Gulf nations and beyond. This includes significant disruptions to oil production, airspace closures, and casualties in neighboring countries.
A humanitarian crisis is now unfolding for 90 million ordinary Iranians who have no involvement in political decision‑making. The lives of children, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups are at severe risk. Civilian suffering is increasing, and casualty numbers continue to rise. The region is on the verge of a significant refugee crisis. Tehran and other major cities are under heavy bombardment, leaving people with nowhere safe to go.
To political leaders, international organizations, and human rights advocates around the world: we urgently appeal for immediate action to stop the escalation of this conflict and to call for a humanitarian ceasefire. Please sign and support this petition to help prevent an irreversible crisis.
Thank you for your support.
