A great opportunity thanks to Channel 4 (link below) for exposing the truth about the royal family and their money.

This is a plea to the UK government to organise and authorise a national referendum concerning the future of  the UK monarchy. The idea of the monarchy as our head of state not paying taxes as regular citizens do, raises questions about equality and fair share of responsibilities in our society. It was  projected that by 2023, the monarchy will cost UK taxpayers a hefty sum of £83.8 million per annum [UK Treasury Reports]. Thanks to Channel 4 we have now learnt how much this really is.

 This while struggling public services could make better use of these funds. The Royals are also taking money from Charities while their 'subjects' try and support the charities!

Initiating a democratic referendum will provide a platform for all citizens to raise their voices on this matter. Let's call on our government to facilitate this needed discussion. If you believe in the power of democracy, removal of the royal family and tax fairness, please sign this petition.
