Email to CSU Stanislaus Dean

Greetings I am Jasmin Aguirre, this is my first semester here at CSU Stanislaus. I was having a good experience being part of CSU Stanislaus until recently. I am taking Chem/Biochem for Nurses I (Chem 2100 section 001) with Professor Dunlap. Professor Dunlap recently changed her platform for quizzes and tests from Mastering Chemistry to Blackboard due to a recent allegation of her catching some students cheating. Since Professor Dunlap has changed to the new Blackboard platform there has been a steady decline in my own and numerous of my classmate's grades. This course has always been hard even in the beginning, but it was doable. Since the new change Professor Dunlap is nearly making it impossible to get high grades on her quizzes and test. There were students getting 100% on her exams when we were still using Mastering Chemistry and now there are students getting failing grades on newer quizzes and tests. On her new platform she is giving us about a minute a question and a lot of the content that is unrelated to our homework. Before when using Mastering Chemistry, the content was directly related to our homework. Online distance learning is already hard as it is and provides its own set of difficulties. It truly does not help and is not fair to all of us who are working hard when the Professor is punishing all of us because a couple of students got caught cheating. Any time any of myself or other classmates speak up questioning the quizzes and tests she gets frustrated and shuts us down. I am lost as to how to get someone to finally listen to me and my classmates which is why I made this attempt to reach out to you. I would appreciate if my name could be kept anonymous. I would hate to see any retaliation against me personally that could affect my grade to become any lower. Since many of my classmates are going through the same issues I stated in this email we decided that we wouldn't bombard your email but instead have all those in agreeance sign this petition which is attached below.
Sincerely,
Jasmin Aguirre
