Currently, teacher pensions are coming from the district fund which takes away from the the funds students utilize for resources such as school supplies, extra support, or even an adequate learning space. Throughout the years, these pensions continue to increase which continuously rob children of the funds they are given for future success.

However, a solution to this issue should be that cost should not be a burden on the the schools themselves, but should be borne directly by the state paid into the CALSTRS system. Instead of taking from the district fund which is supposed to be used to support students, teacher pensions should come directly from the state.
