Say NO to ACA5- No Race, Color, Sex, Ethnicity, National Origin for CA College Admissions.

Say NO to ACA5- No Race, Color, Sex, Ethnicity, National Origin for CA College Admissions.

The Issue

California Constitutional amendment ACA5 to repeal Prop 209 is Extreme Socialism Supported by Ro Khanna.

Repeal of Prop 209 started May 5th, 2020, which will create quotas for Schools, Public Jobs, Govt. Contracts based on Race, Color, Sex, ethnicity, and National Origin.

It WILL discriminate against your children from going to California’s UC and State Colleges / Public Jobs / Public Contracts.

DON’T ACCEPT THIS EXTREME SOCIALISM FROM RO KHANNA, PLEASE!

I am Ritesh Tandon, a moderate congressional candidate from District 17th of California. I am somebody who will fight for a deserving and fair system for you and your children. We can’t create a blatantly discriminatory quota system in the name of ethnic, color, and race arguments. Under our constitution all people are equal, therefore all must be given an equal and fair chance to compete for admissions to public educational institutions, public jobs, and contracts. Prop 209 was the will of people that forced the California State Constitution to recognize this equality and have the following language in its constitution:

“The California Constitution, pursuant to provisions enacted by the initiative Proposition 209 in 1996, prohibits the state from discriminating against or granting preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in the operation of public employment, public education, or public contracting. The California Constitution defines the state for these purposes to include the state, any city, county, the public university system, community college district, school district, special district, or any other political subdivision or governmental instrumentality of, or within, the state.”

Socialists are trying to overturn the above equality under our constitution.

My Opponent, Ro Khanna, On August 3, 2017, in a press release, expressed his disappointment that Prop. 209 had not been overturned already. He wants admission based on race, sex, color, ethnicity, and national origin.

Ro Khanna is an elite with $27M in net worth. Maybe he will send his kids to private schools. Most of us can’t afford to do that. The hard-working parents of our district pay high California income and property taxes to support a good public school and university system. Why should we accept chains of a socialist quota system around our children’s and our neck?

The extreme socialist philosophy of Ro Khanna to promote race-based admissions and employment is unfair and totally un-American.  This is not who we are!!

DO NOT LET THE FOLLOWING HAPPEN TO YOUR CHILDREN!!

If ACA-5 is passed, it will repeal Prop 209, and your children will suffer the following inequities:

  • Admission to UC colleges/states will happen based on race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin instead of Merit of individual children.
  • Your academic capability will be no longer important. Ethnicity, race, and color will matter!
  • California children may need to go out of California for colleges, away from their families, and at four times increased cost on hard-working American families.
  • Admissions based on race, ethnicity, and color will destroy the quality of education in California State and UC Colleges.
  • Unqualified students will be pushed into our colleges, and they will not be able to graduate. The history before Prop 209 has proven it.
The international standards of our UC's and State Colleges are at risk.

WHAT I WILL DO:

  • I will fight hard to ensure that Prop 209 is not repealed.
  • All children get admission in CA State and UC colleges based on merit.
  • For disadvantaged High School students, I will recommend setting up post-school tuition to enhance their ability to compete fairly with other students.

Please oppose and STOP ACA 5. Let us together help children of all races, color, and ethnicity learn better, and prepare them to compete vigorously at national and international levels. That would be a real gift to our society, not a debilitating quota system!
