Hello fellow fungi friends! Let's work together in a grassroots movement to convince the California State Department of Parks and Recreation to legalize mushroom gathering for personal use in all of California's public lands!

Mushroom gathering is a fun, educational, and exciting way to enjoy California's public lands. The Italian American community has been practicing it for many generations since they first immigrated. Currently most of the lands in California have been closed to mushroom gathering resulting in a harmful human impact on the few lands that are available such as Salt Point and Point Reyes and the heartbreaking deterioration of a beloved and deep-rooted Italian American tradition.

To solve this problem, the California State Department of Parks and Recreation should open all of California's public lands to mushroom gathering for personal use. The opening of the lands will reduce the funneled human impact on the few lands that allow mushroom gathering and revitalize the deep-rooted traditions held by the Italian Americans and other numerous cultures who have practiced mushroom gathering in California for many generations.
