Say 'no' to Caerphilly Mountain traffic chaos in North Cardiff

Say 'no' to Caerphilly Mountain traffic chaos in North Cardiff

The Issue

Say NO to Caerphilly Mountain Road traffic chaos – don't turn North Cardiff into a 'commuter car park'

I'm calling on Caerphilly Borough Council to reconsider its plans to build up to 700 new homes and a new road bypass linked to the A469 Mountain Road because of the increase in traffic this will bring to an already congested commuter route into Cardiff and the impact this will have on North Cardiff.

  • A development of up to 700 new homes on the other side of Caerphilly Mountain could have a massive impact on North Cardiff, bringing traffic chaos to Rhiwbina, Thornhill, Birchgrove, Llanishen, Heath and Gabalfa.
  • An estimated 10,900 people a day already commute from Caerphilly to Cardiff – a new housing development and bypass will vastly increase the traffic on Caerphilly Mountain Road impacting directly on North Cardiff.
  • Say NO to more traffic on the already congested A469 to avoid parts of Cardiff North becoming a commuter car park.
