Protect Small Businesses against Big insurance denying claim because of (covid -19)

The Issue

The Corona virus has become a terrible fact of life. In a time where many businesses are struggling to maintain employees, while being mandated to close their doors by the very government trying to protect them, insurance companies are taking the opportunity to stiff the small businesses that have paid their dues to an industry that seems to leave out the bathroom window every time the bill comes to the table. Insurance policies are dubious at the best of time, but in talking to an agent they are glad to specify ways in which you are not covered, example nuclear war. What we as humans are facing, as Donald Trump has called it is, "an invisible enemy." Insurance companies justify not fulfilling claims for the reason that this viral event is not physical. One can not naturally see oxygen so it must not exist, or in their case a virus doesnt provide a physical reason to close up shop. Going another step forward small business were told that they could not make a claim until the government forced closure. Upon the closure is when insurance companies changed their tune and drew yet another line in the sand. Ever increasing stipulations and false promises, indemnity has little meaning to the agencies that use the word to claim hard earned money from those that put their shoulder to the wheel and their nose to the grindstone.

Small businesses are facing the greatest threat to their livelihood and the livelihood of all their employees. This will have repercussions felt throughout all communities. Holding insurance companies responsible for the contracts they are all to happy to accept money for is just one tool that must be used to see our society through this pandemic.
