I finally found an oncologist who "gets it".

I have yet to be re-staged.  This issue?  I need a CT scan.  It's a standard test.  The issue...drawing blood is a HUGE issue because of my veins.  The CT scan requires an IV.  It typically takes 3-4 attempts to start an IV; including searching for the vein once the needle is inserted.  Needless to say, it's painful.

Sutter Health Plus took TWO weeks to approve the procedure that was put in as "urgent".  The issue is both Sutter Davis and Sutter Solano hospitals REFUSE to do the test.  I require ladocaine to be injected to numb the area to get the IV started.  While it's not a standard procedure, it's not unheard of.  For me personally, it is a standard procedure.

The hospitals are treating me like a leper.  Now that there are Infusion Centers (where they push all the cancer patients off to), the hospitals are refusing to do the test.  They say the infusion center has to do it.  Infusion centers do not administer lidocaine injections; hospitals do.

Here were are again....more passing the buck while I am not receiving care.  I'm in limbo.  Sutter Health Plus and it's hospitals and (most) of its doctors are liable for inadequate care to denial of care.

Treat the patient, according to the patient's needs, not according to policy.  Enough already!!!
