(french and english versions) Bonjour à tous,   Le jour de Pâques nous avions réuni plus de 40 000 signatures de soutien à notre campagne. Merci beaucoup de vous unir avec nous pour défendre les animaux! A cette occasion, nous vous envoyons tous nos meilleurs vœux d'espoir pour un monde meilleur de paix et de justice, où la Vie est plus forte que la mort. C’est bien cela la signification de la résurrection de Jésus-Christ pour les chrétiens. Nous redisons donc avec force notre conviction, déjà confirmée par nombreuses sources théologiques et spirituelles que la mise à mort et la création de souffrances envers les les animaux sans une vraie nécessité (vitale) sont contraires à la volonté du Dieu d’Amour auquel croient les chrétiens. La consommation d’agneau à Pâques est donc un scandale pour le christianisme lui-même, autant que pour tous ceux qui recherchent la justice. Nous vous rappelons que cette pétition a deux objectifs: l'un c'est d'arrêter la consommation d'agneau à Pâques. Le deuxième objectif consiste à demander au Pape et toutes les églises chrétiennes de se prononcer contre la souffrance et l'exploitation de tous les animaux, et de leur prendre en considération dans leur réflexions et leur discours. Cette pétition prendra fin dans une semaine, le dimanche 8 avril, jour de la Pâques orthodoxe. D’ici, là, si c'est possible pour vous, nous vous encourageons à la partager : si chacun d’entre vous partage à une personne, nous pourrions encore faire augmenter les signatures . Le nombre de signatures sera, avec l’argumentation théologique, notre outil principal pour inciter les dirigeants chrétiens à prendre position sur cette tradition et à faire rentrer l'animal, comme sujet à part entière dans leur réflexions. Thank you so much for joining us to speak up for animals! On this occasion we send you all our best wishes of hope for a better world of peace and justice, where Life is stronger than death. This is the meaning of the resurrection of Jesus Christ for Christians. We therefore strongly repeat our conviction, already confirmed by many theological and spiritual sources that the killing and the suffering of animals without a real necessity (vital) are contrary to the will of the God of Love in which Christians believe in. The consumption of lamb at Easter is therefore a scandal for Christianity itself, as much as for all those who seek justice. We remind you that this petition has two objectives: one is to stop the consumption of lamb at Easter. The second objective is to ask the Pope and all Christian churches to speak up against the suffering and exploitation of all animals, as well as to take them into consideration in their reflections and in their discourse. This petition will end in a week, Sunday, April 8, Orthodox Easter Day. If it is possible for you, we encourage you to share the petition. If each one of you shares with one person, we could still increase the number. The number of signatures will be, together with a theological argumentation, our main tool to incite Christian leaders to take a stand on this tradition and to consider the animal as a serious subject of study and reflection.
