The BYU Cannon Center no longer allows trays.  I asked for a tray, and they said no.  I asked to talk to their supervisor, and they said no. I asked to talk to their boss, and they said no.  Ultimately, they would not allow me to have a tray! This is a cafeteria!

Trays are very important in a cafeteria.  It allows you to go from station to station to collect the food you would like to eat.  It prevents you from dropping your food.  It allows you to efficiently carry your food to the drop-off station when you are done.  It provides a clean surface on which to dribble your food. It results in cleaner tables because there aren't plates and dribbled food left over from the previous user. It allows a mother who brings in her four kids an effective way to collect and carry the food her children are asking for.  So many important uses!

Understandably, BYU Dining Services wishes to reduce the food waste at the Cannon Center.  I'm sure we can put our creative minds together to find a solution to that important problem without completely disallowing trays!
