Bring Musical.ly back!

The Issue

Let’s all work together to bring Musical.ly back, and restore the fun app that made up our childhood. Before Tik Tok, there was Musical.ly, a fun application in which you make and edit your own short videos. Sounds like Tik Tok right? However, they both have major differences, Musical.ly being the funniest, most fun, most appropriate, and safest. Those are qualities we want in an app. On the other hand, we have Tik Tok. Tik Tok has lost most of it’s humor, has more predators than ever, and has gotten much more inappropriate. Ever since Tik Tok, you see more twerking, and other sexual movements that a lot of young kids are watching. Even elementary kids are looking at not only sexual movements, but foul language! Kids are watching these things, and looking at trends such as the “walking in on my boyfriend naked challenge” or a song called “Where’s my juul” As a parent, sibling or any family member who cares for a child’s development, do you really want them to see that? I have a little sister, and for privacy reasons, we will call her “Rosy” She has Tik Tok, and me and my mom have overheard very foul language, and seen inappropriate gestures. My little sister was so much nicer before Tik Tok happened. After everything changed to Tik Tok though, she has started swearing, and being very disrespectful to me, my mom, and others such as our grandparents. Tik Tok has changed her. Of course that doesn’t mean I love her any less though. The point is overall, from Musical.ly to Tik Tok, a lot has changed for the worse.
Another reason we as a community should bring Musical.ly back is because Musical.ly also had some features that Tik Tok didn’t adapt. For example: Those of you who had Musical.ly, remember when you used to be able to choose from a big menu with a large variety of sounds? With Tik Tok, you have to scroll and scroll until you find a sound you want to do.
Now here comes another question: What else can we do besides sign and share this petition? Well for starters, if any of you happen to have Tik Tok, let’s start a movement. All of us should post about bringing Musical.ly back, and treat Tik Tok like Musical.ly. Call it Musical.ly and pretend Tik Tok doesn’t exist. Maybe make a separate account just for helping cause the return of Musical.ly. Another thing we can all do is write a short paragraph, or essay if that’s what you prefer, directed to the CEO of ByteDance, Zhang Yiming, or the company itself.

In conclusion, Me, my cousin who is also the second leader of this petition, and to all of you; Let’s all come together and fight for Musical.ly back! You may think we are only fighting for just an app, an unimportant app. But we are fighting for more than that. We are fighting for the children in this coming generation, and fighting for them to have a better and more innocent childhood, not influenced by the process of growing up too fast, and foul language, and inappropriate gestures. So let’s fight for them! If you truly care about the well being of all the kids, join us in this journey to make things right.
