The residence of Bursledon parish request that the chairman of the BDCA stand down

The Issue

You maybe aware of the recent eviction of Bursledon Parish Council from their office in the Lowford Centre and the decision of the BDCA (Bursledon District Community Association) to take control of the community library leaving the friends of Lowford library no choice in withdrawing its volunteers from the library. The BDCA were given control of  Lowford community centre with the understanding that the parish will rent an office and oversee the library and the BDCA would work in the communities interest to manage the centre as stated under the aims and objective's of the charities trust

To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Bursledon by associating the local authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide for recreation and leisure time and occupation and to establish or to secure the establishment of a community centre and to maintain and manage, such community centre for activities promoted by the Charity

We the residents of Bursledon Parish do not believe that the recent eviction was for the benefit of the community of Bursledon Parish and the reasons given for said eviction were unlawful so there for we would like to request that the chairman of the board of the BDCA Mr John Misselbrook step down to allow the center and what it stands for to be restored.

Bursledon Parish Council along with Eastleigh Borough Council contributed financially to the building of the Lowford Centre and now the parish council are having to spend our money to legally fight to regain part of a building that should be rightfully theirs, we as a community need to stick together to protect what is ours
