For many, many years, students at Burnside High School have been faced with a daily struggle. The poor quality of chairs in X block has made learning very, very hard. 

Burnside is a school that values its music department and Cabbage tree more than anything else. Funding is put towards those two and the health and safety of the students isn't held to the highest degree.

There are questionable stains, even more questions rips and an overall a revolting look to all the chairs in X block.

The chairs started to fall apart years ago, they have compromised the posture of students for way too long. The backs make it impossible for students to sit up straight.

Today, I experienced first hand what it is like to be affected by the old chairs of X block. It was unthinkable. On the 29th of May 2020. I fell off a chair due to its back falling out. 

It was already broken, the back was really far back and wouldn't stay upright. It was the chair with the least amount of stains on it, so I sat on it. All was normal for a solid 30 minutes. Then, my life flashed before my eyes! My centre of gravity shifted backwards. Followed by a scream and slow-motion falling. My legs fly up over my head and metal is stabbed in my back. Pain shoots up my back.

It was a harrowing and traumatising experience.
