Recently, many people have been taking offense to John Burroughs High School’s current mascot, the Indian. I must say I agree with said people. The mascot is blatantly racist and is seriously unacceptable. I’ve decided it’s time to make a change. As a student, I know what other students want... and what they want is this. From now on, the mascot of JBHS should be “the Bruh”. This new mascot is timeless and inclusive. Many people may think that the word “bruh” represents only the male population, but in fact the word is an um”bruh”lla term that covers all members of society. Are you a girl? You’re a bruh. Are you gender non-conforming? You’re a bruh. Are you a freshman? Eh, idk maybe not. Anyway, I hope you take the time to consider my suggestion.
