Recently we were all surprised with the news that our property construction managers decided to perform an astronomical raise on our current HOA fee of $600.  A 66% increase is unprecedented and unwarranted.  The residence of Highgrove are saying NO to such an outrageous increase for several reasons.  A few are:

We were not notified and not considered in the decision to increase.

A high HOA fee will not attract buyers to this neighborhood

An increase like this is permanent and with a projected 500 homes being built here, that is a half a million dollar yearly budget to maintain our grounds.  There is no basis for such a high budget and residence have not seen where all the current funds have gone.  

This issue could point to a mismanagement of funds and residence need to see all of the accounting records and see the support for such a huge budget and increase. We believe this increase has no merit and as more residence continue to reside in Highgrove the funds will increase.  Highgrove funding and resources should increase as the neighborhood increases.

We petition to keep the HOA fee at $600 (which is already more than surrounding neighborhoods) or agree on a modest increase that should not exceed 10% of the current fee. We petition to see the spending and budget for past and future projections. We ALL agree NOT to pay the $1000 increase and want to be included and clearly informed BEFORE a decision to increase or not is made.  We want to know where our money is going and why it needs to change.

We know that living in a nice neighborhood like ours cost money in order to keep our home values rising.  This petition offers a fair and reasonable solution to an increase that we do not agree with.  If it is justified with financial statements and truly needed then we will pay it.
