Over 2.5 years ago, a car sped past me at over 45mph on our street. It was obviously unnecessary for a vehicle to be using our street to cut through and at a high rate of speed, especially in a 25mph zone. I always noticed and wave to fellow residents who walk with their children, dogs, friends and the joggers, bikers, and other people in our community going about their daily routines. With 2 dogs and a child of my own on the way, I decided to write a an email to the city. I continually followed up and did my best to go through whatever process and suggestions city employees suggested. Unfortunately, nothing has been done to prevent this reckless speeding and on Saturday, January 28th, a neighbor's beloved dog "Tiki" was fatally struck by a vehicle. My email to the city explicitly stated the concern for my fellow residents, their pets, and friends. 

I am asking all of my fellow SW 18th Court residents between 9th and 4th Avenues to sign this petition so we can control speeding on our streets and make Croissant Park a safer place for everyone.
