BUILD THE SHADOW MOUNTAIN BIKE PARK!

BUILD THE SHADOW MOUNTAIN BIKE PARK!
The Issue
SHADOW MOUNTAIN BIKE PARK (formerly Full Send Bike Ranch)
A new lift-served downhill mountain bike park is proposed on Colorado's Front Range. It would be unique as the first purpose-built lift-served bike park in Colorado, and would be located just 40 minutes from Denver off 285 in the town of Conifer in Jefferson County.
As residents who live on Front Range of Colorado, we could significantly benefit if we allow the proposed Shadow Mountain Bike Park development to be built! The plans include multiple components including chairlift, retail and food/beverage/entertainment with plans for a bar and food trucks/other vendors providing a world-class mountain-bike destination right in our backyard!

I am not officially affiliated with SMBP in any way, I just think it would be awesome for our community.
This petition exists because there is an opposition petition circulating against this park being built that seems to represent short-sighted NIMBY-ism, and I strongly believe the pros of this project far outweigh the cons.
This development poses a positive impact to our community, including the recreational opportunities and the financial boon it would bring to the city and county.
If you live in Jefferson County and want to make sure this gets built, here are a few points to consider for signing this petition to BUILD THE SHADOW MOUNTAIN BIKE PARK!

BENEFITS
A Unique, Unmet Need
As proposed, Shadow Mountain Bike Park would be Colorado’s first dedicated lift-access freeride and downhill mountain-bike park. While there are several lift-served bike parks in CO, all are off-season operations of ski resorts and requires several hours of travel for Front Range residents. The number of mountain bikers on the Front Range has been growing exponentially, and our region seriously lags behind others in the country when it comes to bike-only trails built specifically for mountain bikes. This is a unique opportunity to provide constituents with the opportunity to ride on trails built just for them without overcrowding/straining already busy multi-use trails on public lands.
Economic Stimulation
Lift ticket sales, as well as retail, food and beverage, will all contribute to state and local taxes. Visitors are likely to patronize other local businesses as well, benefitting the local economy.
Multi-User Benefits
The FAQs state Shadow Mountain Bike Park envisions offering different kinds of access to enjoy the forest (e.g., hiking, dog walking, cross-country skiing, etc.), leading to expanded recreational opportunities for all users above and beyond mountain bike riders.
Easing Burden On Public Lands/Trails
By providing mountain bikers with lift access and purpose-built downhill-specific mountain bike trails (without having to drive several hours into the mountains), Shadow Mountain Bike Park will meet a largely unserved need for the ever-growing MTB population on the Front Range, thus leading to decreased bike traffic on already busy multi-use trails, helping to alleviate conflict among user groups and easing the burden on public land usage.
Traffic/Safety Concerns
The FAQ page on the developer’s website states they intend to perform a formal in-depth traffic survey to understand the impact and mitigate strain on community roadways. Shadow Mountain Bike Park appears to aim to be a responsible addition to the community, maximizing fiscal and recreational benefit while minimizing any negative impacts to residents.
