Build Sidewalk and Crosswalks for Kesslebrooke Station Resident Accessibility
The Issue
I live in a great neighborhood in Kesslebrooke Station, Delaware, OH, that is unfortunately isolated from nearby neighborhoods. To reach local businesses and family-friendly parks just across the road, my family and neighbors have to navigate a path that involves cutting through a grassy area and crossing a busy street in Liberty Rd. This situation not only hampers walkability but also raises significant safety concerns.
Imagine a community where every family, child, and senior feels safe to walk across Liberty Rd and enjoy Stratford Woods Park with walkability to Coughlin Crossing. Without proper pedestrian infrastructure, the day-to-day lives of those in our community are not only less convenient but also less safe.
Walkability is crucial for fostering community spirit, promoting healthier lifestyles, and supporting local businesses. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, neighborhoods with effective pedestrian infrastructure report significantly fewer pedestrian incidents. Moreover, the Safe Routes Partnership states that a walkable community increases real estate value and community health.
By constructing a sidewalk and crosswalks, we can ensure that our neighborhood is not cut off from the thriving adjacent neighborhoods. This development will enable safe and easy access to local amenities, boosting our neighborhood's connectivity and enhancing its appeal.
Please join me in calling upon the Delaware Parking and Safety Committee, and subsequently City Council, to prioritize this critical project for our neighborhood's safety and connectivity. By signing this petition, you're helping to push for infrastructure that can significantly improve our quality of life and bring our community closer together. Your support matters and can drive positive change. Sign today to make our neighborhood a safer and more connected place for everyone.
