We have gone from a community of approximately 2,000 people to over 23,000 people, all serviced by the one road leading into the city and employment areas for Mackay.  
When an accident happens, traffic banks back for over 9 - 10 km into the furtherest suburb out of town - Shoal Point, and all workers and school drop offs are affected. 
Additionally were there to be an emergency, then emergency services would be unable to get through the traffic hold ups and this will cost lives. 
We NEED Mackay Regional Council and Qld Department of Main Roads & Transport to give us a life-changing solution to the congestion and traffic hazards as the population is ever growing out here due to new development.  
We CALL upon them to address this situation as an urgency before someone is killed.
