Build Pickleball Courts in Doral

Build Pickleball Courts in Doral
The Issue
We need your support to make a lasting change in our community. It's disheartening to see neighboring cities enjoying dedicated pickle ball courts while we're left to play in tennis courts with vandalized nets and poor conditions. Let's come together and ask the City of Doral to build dedicated pickle ball courts, providing a safe and thriving space for our beloved sport to grow in our city!
Pickleball has gained immense popularity in recent years, among all age groups. It is a low-impact activity that can be played by people of all ages and abilities, making it an ideal recreational sport for our city. By providing pickleball courts in our public parks, we can encourage healthy and active lifestyles, promote community engagement, inclusivity and accessibility. The game is easy to learn, and its small court size allows for more efficient use of space, which will provide more opportunities for residents to enjoy outdoor activities.
As the popularity of the sport continues to soar, communities across Florida have recognized the benefits of adding pickleball courts to their public parks. In fact, cities such as Naples, Delray Beach, and Sarasota have seen a tremendous increase in community engagement and physical activity since introducing the sport to their residents.
The 2023 APP Pickleball Participation report shows that 14% of Americans played pickleball at least once in the past 12 months and the numbers continue to grow. By opening pickleball courts in public parks, the city of Doral, would not only cater to the demands of its residents but also attract pickleball enthusiasts from neighboring areas.
In 2019, Sarasota County hosted the USA Pickleball National Championships, which drew over 2,000 participants and generated over $3 millions in economic impact.
We understand that creating new facilities may require a financial investment, but we believe that by investing in pickleball facilities, the City of Doral will reap many benefits that will outweigh the financial investment. The creation of these courts will encourage residents to stay and play in the area, boosting the local economy and supporting local businesses. It will also provide a new and exciting recreational opportunity that will attract visitors from neighboring communities.
We urge the city of Doral to take note of the success stories of other Florida cities and open pickleball courts in public parks. Let's give our residents the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of this fantastic sport and make Doral an even more vibrant and active community.
