On May 16th, many people in Tempe voted NO against the Coyote's proposed Arena and Entertainment district in Tempe, AZ. The Arizona Coyotes are the only major hockey sports team in all of Arizona and there are a ton of fans and citizens around who are disappointed about the votes (including myself). The reason why we need the Arizona Coyotes to stay and to have a venue in Tempe is because they have have brought so many opportunities to the valley especially amongst children. Youth hockey, internships, media, organization, minor league hockey, community donations, & much more are all at risk right now and it's bad because it's going to have a negative affect on the community. The Arizona Coyotes have been active in the community for many years and they also have their non-profit foundation called the Arizona Coyotes Foundation. The Arizona Coyotes foundation works throughout Arizona communities by supporting non-profit organizations that promote healthcare, education and cultural arts programs for children and servicemen and women. This is very important because it brings the community together with a lot of support. If the Arizona Coyotes move away, the valley is going to be seriously affected economically and socially. The Venue and entertainment district is PRIVATELY FUNDED not paid for with tax money. By signing this petition, I hope that we can raise awareness about this situation and hopefully we can overturn the votes so that Tempe can build this important venue that would bring so many opportunities economically and socially to the valley, but also supporting non-profit organizations that will positively affect our community and bring us together.
