Build a Pump Track on Hawaii Island

Build a Pump Track on Hawaii Island
The Issue
Aloha! Hawai'i Island residents need additional recreation facilities. A pump-track is an outdoor paved course with bumps, dips, berms and turns that encourage people of any age and skill level to ride and have fun! Anyone with a wheeled device can use a pumptrack: cyclists, rollerskaters, skateboarders, scooterists, etc. Riding a pumptrack is an incredibly healthy form of exercise that can be done anytime by anyone. Pumptracks encourage a sense of community and can create lifelong friendships. They are designed to match skill levels from beginner to advanced, and can provide additional challenges as riders try new lines through the course.

We want to build a pumptrack on Hawaii Island. The location is TBD, but there are multiple options including in Waikoloa at Kamakoa Nui Park, in Waimea at the District Park, in Hilo near the new SkatePlaza, or in Kohala near Roots SkatePark. Hopefully in the future, every community has one!
Please sign this petition now, so we can show our county that this is something that would benefit our Island.
