Build a Playground at Smiley Park

Build a Playground at Smiley Park
The Issue
In March 2024 families overwhelmingly signaled that they wanted the city to "add innovative, all ability playgrounds," and to upgrade existing facilities.
No park needs it more than the South-West section of Smiley Park on Olive Avenue. With its outdated and dangerously derelict structures, defunct bowling green, and broken lights, there's little there to draw families and children.
We know that kids won't be kids forever, so the time to act is now.
Send a message to the Parks & Recreation Commission and the City of Redlands that providing for our children--by adding a playground to Smiley Park--has to be a priority.
South-West Smiley Park
- center of residential family-oriented neighborhood
- close to amenities such as the Redlands Bowl and the AK Smiley Library
- nearest playground is 1.73 miles away at Brookside Park
- Olive Avenue Market is a draw for local families
