Our community needs a new park and pump track in Davidson Garden, Lamington. The previous kids' play area was demolished, leaving a void in our neighborhood that was once filled with laughter, energy, and community spirit. This area was not just a place where kids played; it was a safe haven where friendships were built and memories were made. It was a unique space where children could be active, stay healthy, and socialize in a secure environment.

Without this play area, our children have lost a vital part of their daily lives, a place where they could step away from screens, embrace the outdoors, and develop crucial social skills. Now, they are left without a suitable local area to meet and play, while parents are forced to travel further afield, which is both inconvenient and unsustainable for many families.

By creating a new park and pump track, we aim not only to replace what was lost but to enhance our community’s facilities. A pump track, in particular, provides a modern and exciting way for kids to get active and learn new skills such as biking and skateboarding, in a fun and engaging way. This would make it an attractive location for families, promoting greater physical fitness, and encouraging community gatherings.

According to research from national health organizations, physical activity in children is linked to better academic performance, improved mental health, and a lower risk of developing chronic diseases. Building a dedicated space for these activities will help promote these benefits locally.
