Build a Legal Burnout and Skid Pad Facility in the Hunter Region

Build a Legal Burnout and Skid Pad Facility in the Hunter Region
The issue
The Hunter Region has a large community of car enthusiasts, motorsport fans, and young drivers, but there are very few legal places to safely participate in burnout and skid events.
Because there is no dedicated facility, some drivers take part in illegal hooning on public roads and industrial areas, creating safety concerns for the community and frustration for residents.
We believe a purpose-built burnout and skid pad facility would provide a safe, controlled environment where enthusiasts can enjoy their passion legally while reducing dangerous behaviour on public roads.
Similar facilities around Australia have successfully supported motorsport communities, attracted visitors, and provided a positive outlet for young people interested in cars.
We are calling on local councils, state representatives, and relevant authorities to investigate and support the development of a legal burnout and skid pad facility in the Hunter Region.
By creating a legal venue for these activities, we can improve road safety, support local motorsport culture, and give enthusiasts a place to enjoy their vehicles responsibly.
