BTS’s Comeback Should Be for All ARMYS: Safety, Accessibility, and Fairness Matter
The Issue
As Army’s we have cherished our journey as BTS fans, eagerly anticipating every new release, era, and event. Through their music, found joy, inspiration, and a sense of belonging shared by millions around the world. The announcement of a comeback tour is incredibly exciting, but the opportunity to attend should never be defined by stress, physical strain, or inequality.
As it currently stands, many European tour dates are planned with standing-only general admission floor sections, rather than seated flooring. While this format may work for some, it creates serious concerns around accessibility, safety, and fairness that directly impact a large portion of the fandom.
1. Standing-Only Floors Exclude Many Fans
Standing for hours, often after waiting all day, is simply not feasible for everyone. Standing-only floor sections disproportionately affect:
• Fans with physical disabilities or chronic pain
• Fans with mobility limitations
• Younger fans and families
• Fans who simply cannot stand for extended periods
A seated or mixed seating option would allow all fans, regardless of physical ability or personal circumstance, to enjoy the concert experience equally and comfortably.
2. Summer Heat and Camping Create Serious Safety Risks
These concerts are scheduled during peak summer months, when temperatures across Europe can be extremely high. Standing-only GA setups often encourage:
• Overnight or early-morning camping
• Prolonged exposure to heat
• Dense crowding with limited movement
These conditions significantly increase the risk of heat exhaustion, dehydration, fainting, and crowd-control emergencies, risks that are well-documented at large summer stadium events.
3. Camping Culture Is Unsafe and Unhygienic
Standing GA systems often unofficially require camping to secure a reasonable view. This creates conditions that are:
• Unsafe for physical and mental health
• Unhygienic due to limited access to restrooms, showers, and sanitation
• Exclusionary to fans who cannot camp due to work, health, disability, caregiving responsibilities, or travel constraints.
Attending a concert should not require sacrificing health, hygiene, or personal safety.
4. BTS Tours Have Historically Been Seated; Progress Should Not Go Backward
Historically, BTS tours have primarily featured seated floor sections, allowing fans of all ages and abilities to attend safely and comfortably. This accessibility has long been part of what made BTS concerts inclusive and welcoming.
With this tour, BTS is reportedly taking a step forward by introducing 360-degree stage designs, allowing even more fans to access stadium venues and improving sight-lines throughout the arena.
Because of this advancement, there is no practical or logistical reason to take a step backward by implementing standing-only general admission floors.
A 360 stage already:
• Maximizes visibility
• Expands usable seating
• Increases overall fan access
Standing-only GA does not enhance inclusivity, it reduces it.
5. Ticket Resale at Inflated Prices Further Excludes Fans
Another growing concern is the resale of tickets at exorbitant prices. Resellers often exploit high-demand events by inflating prices far beyond face value, making it impossible for many genuine fans to attend.
Implementing a resale price cap of no more than 10% above the original ticket price would:
• Protect fans from predatory pricing
• Discourage scalping
• Ensure tickets reach real fans, not resellers
Other major artists have successfully intervened in resale practices to return tickets to fans at fair prices. Just like Ariana Grande and her team did recently for her tour. This demonstrates that fan-first solutions are possible when organizers listen.
Our Request
We respectfully urge event organizers and ticket vendors to make BTS’s tour accessible and fair by:
• Including seated or mixed seated/standing floor options at all venues
• Enforcing a ticket resale price cap no higher than 10% above face value
This tour represents BTS entering a new chapter, one defined by growth, maturity, and a fandom that spans generations, abilities, and backgrounds. A comeback of this magnitude should be:
• Safe
• Accessible
• Inclusive
• Fair for all ARMY, not only those who can camp or stand for hours.
We are not asking for special treatment. We are asking for consideration, balance, and respect for the diverse reality of the fandom.
These changes would not only ensure a safer and more inclusive experience for ARMY, but also set a meaningful precedent for fairness in the live music industry. ARMY has always shown up for BTS.
Now we ask that every ARMY, of every age, ability, and circumstance, be allowed to show up too.
