Please note : THIS IS A FREE PETITION.   I am writing today as one of the representatives of the BTS fan group known as "Army".  As reference, BTS, is a K-pop band who has broken the mold on the K-pop industry. They are currently on their world-wide Arirang  tour. They will be performing at Gillette stadium to a sold-out crowd on August 5th and 6th.    To date they have played in El Paso and Tampa to sold out stadiums generating millions of dollars in revenue.   The color Purple is very special to BTS and Army. In 2016 Kim Taehyung, one of the 7 members, used it to describe a symbol of trust, love and loyalty between Army and BTS. It has been special to every Army and BTS members ever since.   In El Paso the red star on the mountain was lit purple for one week in honor of them when they played there.  In Tampa, the bridges and The Old City Hall were lit purple during their stay.   Army from everywhere arrive early to their venues, sometimes days before booking hotels and shopping while waiting.  It would mean so much to BTS and Army to have businesses, town halls and important buildings and structures in Foxboro and surrounding towns lit purple from 8/4 thru and including 8/6.     Because this is the very first time BTS has played in Massachusetts we are submitting this petition in hopes that the sky will be lit purple to welcome them to our state.   Respectfully submitted, Karen Lomas Representative of BTS Army
