If your a 90s baby you probably remember Disney Channel’s hit show “The Proud Family” airing in the early 2000s. The show was one of the only animated series that focused on a black middle class family, making it relatable to many of its viewers. In the promo for the show there are several clips shown that never aired in the series. Suga mama can be seen playing records and dancing with some friends in the living room. Penny is seen drawn a little differently. It’s also said that Dejonay, Penny’s best friend, original name was Deliquenetta. She convinces Penny to sneak out and steal her parents car! This original pilot never aired! The 10 year old girl in me HAS to see this episode, and I know I’m not the only one. Bruce W. Smith, the creator of the show, has said in an interview that he has the original pilot and will “maybe share it one day”.
