Brownsburg Schools have long been home to many traditional sports. Basketball, football, and even cheerleading have led our schools to victory and instilled a sense of pride in parents, students and alumni. What could be missing?  I, Sadi Simpson, propose that Brownsburg Community School Corporation add a new sport to our portfolio: Dance. I have spent 13 years practicing the sport and art of dance, four of which as the captain of my own high school’s dance team. The lessons being on a dance team taught me were invaluable, and when I moved to Brownsburg and started working for Brownsburg schools I found that there was a serious lack of options for young dancers in our area. Dance combines art and athletics to instill in students values of discipline, creativity, and persistence like no other sport can. With our neighboring corporations such as Avon and Plainfield hosting successful programs, I know with our bulldog-tough students and my experienced leadership we, too, could build a successful program together from the ground up.
